The McGaw Art archive is one of the most extensive Print on Demand collections available. Over 5,000 images are available in up to 8 sizes on three substrates.*
Giclée, from French is a neologism for the process of making fine art prints from a digital source using
ink-jet printing. The word "giclée" is derived from the French language word "le gicleur" meaning
"nozzle", or more specifically "gicler" meaning "to squirt, spurt, or spray".
Our images are produced on 3 substrate choices*, all produced on very high resolution printers creating a continuous tone print.
1. High quality 230 gsm smooth matte poster paper Trimmed to 1" border, rolled. A good all around paper stock perfect for paintings and photographs. Works well with most laminates and liquid coatings as well as glues and adhesives for mounting applications.
2. Fine art, acid free, archival textured 245 gsm giclée paper, printed with 100yr archival light fast inks. Trimmed to 2" border, rolled. Very similar to a traditional artist's watercolor paper. The paper, ink and printer combo produce a very vibrant print, absolutely stunning. This product is not recommended for use with laminates.
3. Artist Canvas 17 mil acid free, cotton/poly blend, lustre finish, printed with water resistant solvent inks. Trimmed to 2" border, rolled. Good vibrant color gamut produces a high quality print. Flip the print over and notice the creamy natural canvas fibers and texture very similar to what an artist would use for a masteriece. Canvas works well with most liquid coatings if you would like to add even more longevity.***
For convenience we have selected 8 "Ready to Print" P.O.D. sizes for all pieces ranging from a Petite
(8" x 10") to a Billboard (44" x 66") and with our P.O.D. archive, any scalable size print is available
