As he studied the Renaissance master’s paintings his thoughts were only on how much he enjoyed doing it. In his twenties, this Minnesota native began concentrating on painting animals and wildlife, discovering that people really appreciated the realism and natural beauty he brought to his subjects. He painted wildlife in natural settings, bringing the viewer into remote scenes untouched by humankind. Now Kevin has returned to the romantic creativeness of the masters’ portraits he studied as a teen. He has turned his camera on family and friends to feature real people in his paintings. Kevin has become increasingly interested in children as subjects for his portraits because he senses in them an innocence and carefree existence that is readily identifiable. Kevin recalls real life situations to bring the most honesty he can to his imagined settings. If people feel as excited about viewing his paintings as he does when creating them, he is satisfied.\r\rInspired by the vastness of beauty and grace in nature, Kevin Daniel has focused on painting wildlife in their nature surroundings, discovering in the process, that people are drawn to and appreciate the realism and authenticity he brings to his subjects. That experience taught him how to think fast, work in difficult situations, compose quickly, and above all, to be patient, which has been a huge benefit when working in landscape photography.\r\rIf there's a theme that runs through his photographs, it's the theme of Beauty. Inspired by the quiet beauty of the landscape, he often looks for large, bold areas of color in his images, and a sense of order in the natural world. Hudson started out using black and white film and printing in a traditional wet darkroom; color printing was expensive and difficult to do correctly. Today though, more of his images are in color than black and white. But, due to his monochrome 'upbringing', he still shoots very selectively– there has to be a good reason to shoot in color.\r\rMichael Hudson has been a professional photographer for over twenty years. It has allowed him to work on commercial assignments, while giving him the freedom to travel the world in search of beauty. His fine art images hang in private and corporate collections, and have been used on numerous book covers and in magazines. His ongoing series of geometric paintings were initially inspired by aerial views of the vast Canadian landscape.\r\rWyper’s current theme of inquiry is the nature of consciousness and the practice of present-moment-awareness. He says, “Painting is the process of grounding consciousness into an object. Paintings perfectly reflect the acts and states-of-being of their makers, but they also act as mirrors to their viewers. Reality is reflective of consciousness, so if you find yourself in front of a painting that moves you, realize that you’re you’re looking at an aspect of yourself, and that your consciousness is creating your own unique version of that painting.”\r\rWyper drafts geometries by hand or as them laser-cut into birch, and then paints them in acrylic with a palette knife, creating rough imperfections over ordered shapes. With their rich color and sometimes mandala-like geometry, his paintings have been described as “doorways of luminescence and vibration.”\r\rA self-taught painter with more than a decade of experience as a working artist, Wyper once lived in an old school bus and painted while living on the road. In high school I acquired black and white darkroom skills which opened a whole new world to me. In my late teens I ventured out to the Colorado Rockies amidst columbine and pine trees that smelled of vanilla. Mountain vistas seeped into my veins and found expression in color photography.\r\rNext my visual sojourns took me to California and Montana. I studied with Ansel Adams, Ruth Bernhard, V.M. Robertson and Ralph Cooksey-Talbott. I earned my MA in Fine Art Photography from California State College of Fullerton studying under Eileen Cowin and Darryl Curren. My Master's graduate show was from a body of work I shot in black and white infrared on a widelux camera of the ranching lifestyle of the family rancher (see Stewards of the Land on the home page).\r\rAnother turn of the clock brought my young family and me to beautiful northern Vermont, where I began working in color again. Summer, fall, winter and spring: nature's rhythm passed before my camera and I took notice. I began Haymaker Press in 1987, publishing my own images of Vermont, Maine, the Cape and the Adirondack as greeting cards, journals, posters and original framed photos. I also shot weddings and portraits running both these businesses out of my home while my sons grew. In high school she acquired black and white darkroom skills, which opened a whole new world to the budding photographer. In her late teens Moore ventured out to the Colorado Rockies amidst columbine and pine trees that smelled of vanilla. The mountain vistas that she saw seeped into her veins and found expression in her color photography.

Next her visual sojourns took her to California and Montana. She studied with Ansel Adams, Ruth Bernhard, V.M. Robertson and Ralph Cooksey-Talbott and earned her MA in Fine Art Photography from California State College of Fullerton studying under Eileen Cowin and Darryl Curren. Her Master's graduate show “Stewards of the Land” was from a body of work she shot in black and white infrared on a widelux camera of the ranching lifestyle of the family rancher.

Moore and her young family moved to beautiful northern Vermont, where she began working in color again. Summer, fall, winter and spring: nature's rhythm passed before her camera and she took notice. Moore began Haymaker Press in 1987, publishing her own images of Vermont, Maine, the Cape and the Adirondack as greeting cards, journals, posters and original framed photos and also shot weddings and portraits running both businesses out of her home while her sons grew. In 2000 she moved the businesses to Main Street, Morrisville and also opened the Haymaker Card and Gift shop, which she closed in 2017 to focus on other ventures. Moore also began a new project of documenting the lifecycle of loons. She travels out at sunrise by kayak with camera and pen to observe and record the lifecycle of loons, her writings noted in her “Loon Journal.” Currently Moore continues her wedding, lifestyle, portrait, and reunion photography resulting in timeless album-books. His paintings take the viewer into remote environs untouched by humankind, deep into forests full of wildlife or high into the mountains where vistas leave you breathless.\r\rKevin draws from real life scenes in order to bring the utmost honesty and realism he can to his imagined settings. The result is a new series of paintings full of wonder and preciously captured moments in time; wonders of nature that may be cherished for eternity. So passionately is Barry involved with his art that every one of his photos goes far beyond the usual “image capture" by vividly expressing its subject’s unique emotion. In his vast and eclectic choice of theme, Barry communicates a full gamut of human sensation, from laughter to tears, from awe to understanding, and beyond. In short, the multi-layered character of this artist’s work far exceeds the one-dimensional nature of the medium he has chosen.

For inspiration Hart cites: "I’m endlessly fascinated by the interaction of horses and humans, especially humans of the cowboy variety. As a former horse trainer who continues to dabble at that art, I’m blessed with certain insights into equine behavior that give me something of an edge. Timing is everything and for me it’s a great blessing that I can feel a moment coming before it actually starts to happen- little things like a yawn; the roll of an eye, a faraway gaze, a sudden alertness, a struggle between man and animal, a misstep that’s likely to cause a fall."

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, this man-of-the-west found his way to the homeland of his heart following the siren’s song of the horse. From the East to the West and finally to the Southwestern desert, Barry sang for a living and learned the way of the horse for loving. A romantic to the core, he was ultimately drawn to the camera as a means of sharing the magnificent details he sees in every facet of God’s glorious creation.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0223/4033/products/H2114_658920ee-05e2-486d-a0b5-0491505b1e7f.jpg?v=1599056728
david-lorenz-winston-morning-light
Morning Light
© David Lorenz Winston\r
\r
About the Artist
David Lorenz Winston studied photography at Pennsylvania State University where he received a B.A. in art in 1965. In 1945 he entered the Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University) where he majored in pictorial design. Upon graduation, Warhol moved to New York where he found steady work as a commercial artist. He worked as an illustrator for several magazines including Vogue, Harper's Bazaar and The New Yorker and did advertising and window displays for retail stores such as Bonwit Teller and I. Miller. Prophetically, his first assignment was for Glamour magazine for an article titled "Success is a Job in New York."

Throughout the 1950s, Warhol enjoyed a successful career as a commercial artist, winning several commendations from the Art Director's Club and the American Institute of Graphic Arts. In these early years, he shortened his name to "Warhol." In 1952, the artist had his first individual show at the Hugo Gallery, exhibiting Fifteen Drawings Based on the Writings of Truman Capote. His work was exhibited in several other venues during the 1950s, including his first group show at The Museum of Modern Art in 1956.

The 1960s was an extremely prolific decade for Warhol. Appropriating images from popular culture, Warhol created many paintings that remain icons of 20th-century art, such as the Campbell's Soup Cans, Disasters and Marilyns. In addition to painting, Warhol made several 16mm films, which have become underground classics such as Chelsea Girls, Empire and Blow Job. In 1968, Valerie Solanis, founder and sole member of SCUM (Society for Cutting Up Men) walked into Warhol's studio, known as the Factory, and shot the artist. The attack was nearly fatal.

At the start of the 1970s, Warhol began publishing Interview magazine and renewed his focus on painting. Works created in this decade include Maos, Skulls, Hammer and Sickles, Torsos and Shadows and many commissioned portraits. Warhol also published The Philosophy of Andy Warhol (from A to B and Back Again). Firmly established as a major 20th-century artist and international celebrity, Warhol exhibited his work extensively in museums and galleries around the world.

The artist began the 1980s with the publication of POPism: The Warhol '60s and with exhibitions of Portraits of Jews of the Twentieth Century and the Retrospectives and Reversal series. He also created two cable television shows, "Andy Warhol's TV" in 1982 and "Andy Warhol's Fifteen Minutes" for MTV in 1986. His paintings from the 1980s include The Last Suppers, Rorschachs and, in a return to his first great theme of Pop, a series called Ads. Warhol also engaged in a series of collaborations with younger artists, including Jean-Michel Basquiat, Francesco Clemente and Keith Haring.

Following routine gall bladder surgery, Andy Warhol died February 22, 1987. After his burial in Pittsburgh, his friends and associates organized a memorial mass at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York that was attended by more than 2,000 people.

In late 1987, The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts was duly incorporated in accordance with Warhol’s will, whose mission is for the advancement of the visual arts. Dixon approaches painting much as she does her life...intuitively with free expression. "Anything is possible if the art spirit is right." Direct observation of everyday life and a keen sense of what will work on canvas fuel her passion for exploring fresh subjects as well as revisiting old favorites. The work is about color, immediacy and an intuitive response to the world around her. Inspiration is drawn from paying attention to the moment and recognizing ideas that connect with the soul...color, form, mood, light, music, conversation, dreams. Dixon's personal journey challenges her to investigate peace, harmony, chaos, fears, stress and laughter of the day... to reveal and paint in response to this LIFE and all its complexities. Going back to her Louisiana roots and the familiar laissez le bon temps rouler...that is, let the good times roll on the canvas! ...and she does.\r\rAmy Dixon received her BA in Studio Art from Newcomb College of Tulane University. He is known for his expansive studies to document all types of American birds and for his detailed illustrations that depicted the birds in their natural habitats. His major work, a color-plate book entitled The Birds of America (1827–1839), is considered one of the finest ornithological works ever completed. This monumental work consists of 435 hand-colored, life-size prints of 497 bird species, made from engraved copper plates of various sizes depending on the size of the image. Audubon developed his own methods for drawing birds. First, he killed them using fine shot. He then used wires to prop them into a natural position, unlike the common method of many ornithologists, who prepared and stuffed the specimens into a rigid pose. When working on a major specimen like an eagle, he would spend up to four 15-hour days, preparing, studying, and drawing it. His paintings of birds are set true-to-life in their natural habitat. He often portrayed them as if caught in motion, especially feeding or hunting, basing his paintings on his extensive field observations. Audubon's influence on ornithology and natural history was far reaching. Nearly all later ornithological works were inspired by his artistry and high standards. Charles Darwin quoted Audubon three times in On the Origin of Species and also in later works. Despite some errors in field observations, he made a significant contribution to the understanding of bird anatomy and behavior through his field notes. After graduating, however, she spent several years following opportunities in the business and tech industries. Then in 2006 she came back to her love of art, embracing a new career as a full time artist, which she still enjoys today.\r\rPreferring to paint from memory, Jennifer layers thin and thick applications of acrylic paint, focusing on the variety of texture and color of the piece in combination with the natural forms of the composition. Trained by abstract expressionists, she paints quickly preferring a gestural style giving her paintings a whimsical fun energy. Her award winning work is well loved and collected worldwide as well as locally in the Northwest where she spends most her time.\r\rOver the years, Jennifer has lived in Seattle, Bellingham, and the Skagit Valley. She also enjoyed a childhood in the beautiful Puget Sound region where she spent every summer camping and hiking with her family in the Olympics, Cascades, and down to the Oregon Coast. She is now happy to call the beautiful Willamette Valley home, a short journey from her coastal childhood summers. She continues to be an outdoor enthusiast - hiking every week and creating paintings celebrating her natural surroundings from her downtown Corvallis, Oregon studio, a short walk from the serenity of the Willamette river, Farmer’s markets, and a slower happy life.
Image © Trent Foltz\r
\r
About the Artist
As a young boy Trent Foltz loved spending time on his grandparents’ farm in rural Northwest Illinois. For hours, he played in the barn, worked by his grandma’s side in the garden and helped his grandpa sort pigs. After college his life took a different direction. With a photography degree in hand, he traded the quiet life of rural America for a fast-paced life in the city. As a commercial advertising photographer in St. Louis, Trent worked with some of the largest blue-chip companies in the country. After 15 years as a successful advertising photographer, he returned to his hometown to raise his two boys in Illinois. The landscape he found there however, was very different from the one he remembered. Gone were the days of the small farms. Wooden barns and fence lines were disappearing, making way for housing and business developments. His grandfather had passed by this time and the new owners of his property were getting ready to tear down the barns. It was at that point he decided to turn his camera to the great beauty of the Midwest landscape before it disappeared. \r\rTrent Foltz received his Bachelors of Arts in Photography and his Bachelors of Science in Forestry from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. He has worked for the National Park Service and National Forest Service before opening a commercial advertising photography studio in St. Louis, Missouri. Clients include, Anheuser-Bush, Volvo, and Hard Rock Cafe and the Missouri Botanical Center. Trent moved back to his hometown in Geneseo, IL where he currently maintains a studio. His photography has been exhibited nationally and locally at galleries, shows and private collections.
Trent Foltz
8x12 image on 11x14 After receiving a degree from the Department of Stage Design, Shanghai Theatre Academy (famous for its Western-style landscape painting training program), he was appointed to teach painting and stage design there. In 1986, he relocated to the United States after receiving an invitation to give his first solo exhibition in New York.\r\rZhen-Huan Lu’s disciplined background in life study, western painting techniques and both western and eastern aesthetics, led to his development of a unique American style of poetic realism that aims to make visible the invisibles through his skillful portrayal of familiar scenes and objects. His training also led him to develop equal skill in watercolor, egg tempera, and oil painting; three disparate and difficult media to master.\r\rAlthough people are never depicted in his landscape paintings, Lu’s keen interest remains in human life and emotions; whether it be rocking chairs on the porch on a lazy afternoon or a pair of oars against an aged beach house, human spirit is always present. Through his masterful technique, Zhen-Huan Lu captures a world beyond the obvious with close-ups and exquisite details.\r\rZhen-Huan Lu’s paintings have been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the United States and China. \r
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0223/4033/products/Z164_dfa71505-2c81-4f0a-8b3c-936a84fa69b9.jpg?v=1599044006
barry-hart-lost-canyon-cowboy
Lost Canyon Cowboy
Image © Barry Hart

About the Artist
In the work of this photographic artist, heart is the operative term.

© 2026
DAG, Inc., Atlanta, USA

About the Artist
Leo Burns spent his formative years in San Francisco. Pennsylvania, in 1928. Miller. Prophetically, his first assignment was for Glamour magazine for an article titled "Success is a Job in New York." Throughout the 1950s, Warhol enjoyed a successful career as a commercial artist, winning several commendations from the Art Director's Club and the American Institute of Graphic Arts. In late 1987, The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts was duly incorporated in accordance with Warhol's will, whose mission is for the advancement of the visual arts. In 1989, the Museum of Modern Art in New York had a major retrospective of his works. Finally, The Andy Warhol Museum opened in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in May 1994.
©/®/™ 2026
The
Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Inc.
