About the Artist

William Montgomery is an abstract artist who embraces technology as a means to create his art. Using an iPad, Montgomery creates geometric abstract digital paintings for the 21st Century. Inspired and influenced by abstract masters Piet Mondrian, Wassily Kandinsky, Mark Rothko, and Willem de Kooning, Montgomery approaches color and form digitally where his contemporaries used paint and canvas. Montgomery showed an interest in art from a very early age and always liked creating things with his hands. When he was in high school, he became more serious about art and has continued to paint and sculpt since then. He studied art in Philadelphia, Rome, and London and has shown his work in several group and one-man exhibitions. In 1991 he began working with computers to create his artwork. When he started using an iPad, he discovered a new level of creativity and potential since this new tool allowed him to create artwork with his hands wherever he may be.
