After graduating, however, she spent several years following opportunities in the business and tech industries. Then in 2006 she came back to her love of art, embracing a new career as a full time artist, which she still enjoys today. Preferring to paint from memory, Jennifer layers thin and thick applications of acrylic paint, focusing on the variety of texture and color of the piece in combination with the natural forms of the composition. Trained by abstract expressionists, she paints quickly preferring a gestural style giving her paintings a whimsical fun energy. Her award winning work is well loved and collected worldwide as well as locally in the Northwest where she spends most her time. Over the years, Jennifer has lived in Seattle, Bellingham, and the Skagit Valley. His Post-Impressionist work hauntingly conveyed through forceful color, aggressive brushwork and contoured forms, the anguish of a mental illness that eventually resulted in suicide.After failing in both his career and love life, van Gogh turned inward, pursuing a position in the ministry. In 1880, disenchanted with priesthood, he discovered art as his new mission. The artist's earliest works were scenes of peasant life, but after a trip to Paris in 1886, where he encountered the works of the Impressionists and the Japanese prints en vogue at the time, he dramatically transformed his style from darkly colored realism to vibrant expressionism.Inspired by the beauty of rural Arles, he moved there in 1888, but continued to struggle with nervous crisis and depression, and after one particularly severe episode, committed himself to an asylum at St. Remy. While hospitalized, he continued to paint and produced one of his most compelling works, The Starry Night. After his death, van Gogh's powerful compositions and expressive use of color greatly influenced Expressionism.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0223/4033/products/V401_cf62e130-d2d6-4027-b98d-cd77fba68a7d.jpg?v=1597348192
william-morris-garden-of-delight
Garden of Delight
© 2026
McGaw Graphics, Inc.

About the Artist
William Morris was born in Walthamstow, Essex, on 24 March 1834. The son of a wealthy businessman, he enjoyed a privileged childhood before attending Marlborough and Exeter College, Oxford. After leaving Oxford, Morris briefly worked for G. E. Street, the Gothic Revival architect, but he soon left, having determined to become a painter. His admiration for the Pre-Raphaelites led him to be introduced to Dante Gabriel Rossetti whose influence can be seen on Morris's only surviving painting La Belle Iseult. In the 1860s Morris decided to pursue decorative arts. His career as a designer began when he decorated the Red House, Bexleyheath, which had been built for him by Philip Webb. The success of this venture led to the formation of Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co. in 1861. The 'Firm' (later renamed Morris & Co) was particularly well-known for its stained glass, examples of which can be seen in churches throughout Britain. Morris produced some 150 designs which are often characterized by their delightful foliage patterns.Morris entered national politics in 1876, and stayed involved for many years to follow. In 1890 Morris founded the Kelmscott Press in premises near his last home at Kelmscott House in Hammersmith (now the headquarters of the William Morris Society). Morris designed three typefaces for the Press: Golden, Chaucer, and Troy. These were inspired respectively by fifteenth-century Italian and German typography. In all, sixty-six volumes were printed by the Kelmscott Press, the most impressive of which was its magnificent edition of Chaucer which was published in 1896. Morris died at Kelmscott House on 3 October 1896.
© 2026
Succession H. As a master of supreme decoration and expressive use of color, his visionary experiments into different styles of painting from his impressionistic domestic and figurative subjects to his abstract cut-outs changed our perception of the world.Early in his career, Matisse was viewed as a Fauvist (a group of artists known as the "wild beasts"). His work gravitated to the beautiful and his celebration of bright colors reached its peak in 1917 when he began to spend time on the French Riviera at Nice and Vence. Matisse’s Fauvist years were superseded by an experimental period, as he abandoned three-dimensional effects in favor of dramatically simplified areas of pure color, flat shape and strong pattern.As a man of nervous temperament, he coaxed his anxious tension into serenity through painting. In his later years, Matisse moved into a period of selfless invention, creating his cut-outs carved in colored paper and sometimes collaged into vast pictures. The geometric rightness and color radiance of these pictures sum up his greatest gift: his innate knowledge of how colors and shapes could come to life spectacularly when set in context.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0223/4033/products/M1051_e1a1fa4e-ef10-45d8-8d6f-1d7a38d659b0.jpg?v=1633480471
claude-monet-water-lilies-1916
Water Lilies, 1916
Image is Copyrighted and Property of its respective owner\r
\r
About the Artist
Oscar Claude Monet is considered the archetypal Impressionist, with his devotion to painting the transient effects of light and color "en plein air" unwaveringly throughout his long career. He organized the first Impressionist exhibit in 1874 and became the group’s leader, initiator and unswerving advocate. Monet moved to Giverny in 1883, planting the extensive gardens and lily ponds that would provide the inspiration for his later works.\r\rFrom 1890 he concentrated on a series of pictures in which he painted the same subject at different times of the day in different light. The most popular of these are the Haystacks and Rouen Cathedral series. He continued to travel widely, visiting London and Venice several times, yet increasingly he focused his attention on Giverny. There, the celebrated water gardens inspired the Water Lilies series that dominated his work for the remainder of his life.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0223/4033/products/M2614_0a52093a-e379-489e-a9cb-cec3a6dad2f0.jpg?v=1597348297
loui-jover-sunday-ride
Sunday Ride
Image © Loui Jover\r
\r
About the Artist
Having taken up drawing as a child, Loui Jover has been an artist all of his life. His first published works, prints of kabuki actors, appeared the following year. He soon turned to historical and landscape subjects and prints of children. He developed an eclectic style and achieved success with book illustrations and surimono prints ("printed things" for special occasions, such as cards and announcements), picture books and novelettes, erotic books and album prints, paintings, and ink sketches. He experimented with Western-style perspective and use of colour and later concentrated on samurai themes and Chinese subjects. His Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji (1826 – 33), a series of prints, marked a summit in the history of the Japanese landscape print; in grandeur of concept and skill of execution there was little approaching it before and nothing to surpass it later. He endured much hardship early in his career but achieved success as a portraitist in the late 1870s. After visiting Italy in 1881-82, he abandoned the Impressionist ideal and developed a softer and more supple kind of handling which is evident in his pictures of young girls in softly colored settings.\r\rHe is perhaps the best-loved of all the Impressionists for his cheerful subject matter - pretty children, flowers, lovely women - and their instant appeal. Appropriately, it is one of his pictures, Impression: Sunrise, which gave the group of artists painting in this style its name.\r\rBorn in Paris, Monet attended L’Academie Suisse from 1859-60 and subsequently enrolled in the studio of Glenyre, where he met Renoir and Sisley, with whom he formed the nucleus of the Impressionist group. His interest in art was nurtured by his father, an engraver. His formal training began at the Kunst-gewerbeschule in Vienna, and later he worked as an artist-decorator in association with his brother. The primal forces of sexuality, regeneration, love and death form the dominant themes of Klimt’s work.
