Ray is highly regarded for his detailed rural landscapes and antique still lifes.  However, he explains, the real subject of my work is not the aging farm buildings, the rustic old mills or the antiqued crocks and jugs.  The real subject is their surfaces.  “I am intrigued by the texture of a crumbling stone wall, the splintered wood of an old wagon or the way the light reflects off a piece of hand-turned stoneware…the signs of wear and hard use.  How many stories they must have to tell”.  \rOver the years, Ray has developed a number of texturing methods to accurately depict these signs of aging.  He compiled many of them in a book titled, “Texture Techniques for Winning Watercolors”, published by Northlight and released in November of 1999 (now out of print).\rRay’s work has been published, as prints, by Primrose Press, Galaxy of Graphics, and most recently, by Bruce McGaw Graphics.  His work has appeared in many books and magazines such as Splash 3, Splash 4, Splash 9, Palette Talk, Bucks Country Magazine, County Line Magazine, American Artist, Artist’s Magazine and Chinese Watercolor, an art magazine published in Beijing, China.\rRay is represented by several galleries in southeastern Pennsylvania.  He is an elected signature member of the American Watercolor Society, The National Watercolor Society, The Pennsylvania Watercolor Society (also awarded Sylvan Grouse Guild member status of the society), The Philadelphia Watercolor Society (recipient of the Crest Award for continued excellence), and the International Society of Acrylic Painters.  He has been the recipient of many awards for his work in national and international exhibitions and has had numerous one-man shows.  He is listed in “Who’s Who in American Art”. He is especially keen on portraiture, and is intrigued by the human figure and face. Debongnie creates works based on the human form that fuse elements of painting and sketching with Photoshop.  This process gives the works a handmade look while allowing the artist to retouch the images creating unique assemblages that intrigue the viewer.  In this series, Debongnie combines animal faces with human forms in settings reminiscent of vintage photographs, creating whimsical portraits incorporating bold contemporary designs.\r\rPhilippe Debongnie resides in Brussels Belguim with his beautiful wife and two young children.  He does not have any pets because he finds humans much more interesting to look after. For hours, he played in the barn, worked by his grandma’s side in the garden and helped his grandpa sort pigs.  After college his life took a different direction. With a photography degree in hand, he traded the quiet life of rural America for a fast-paced life in the city. As a commercial advertising photographer in St. Louis, Trent worked with some of the largest blue-chip companies in the country. After 15 years as a successful advertising photographer, he returned to his hometown to raise his two boys in Illinois. The landscape he found there however, was very different from the one he remembered. Gone were the days of the small farms. Wooden barns and fence lines were disappearing, making way for housing and business developments. His grandfather had passed by this time and the new owners of his property were getting ready to tear down the barns. It was at that point he decided to turn his camera to the great beauty of the Midwest landscape before it disappeared.  \r\rTrent Foltz received his Bachelors of Arts in Photography and his Bachelors of Science in Forestry from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois.  He has worked for the National Park Service and National Forest Service before opening a commercial advertising photography studio in St. Louis, Missouri.  Clients include, Anheuser-Bush, Volvo, and Hard Rock Cafe and the Missouri Botanical Center.  Trent moved back to his hometown in Geneseo, IL  where he currently maintains a studio. Ryan transitioned from musician\/producer to digital photographer and has since developed a style and technique which captures the extraordinary beauty which surrounds us. He is known for his expansive studies to document all types of American birds and for his detailed illustrations that depicted the birds in their natural habitats. His major work, a color-plate book entitled The Birds of America (1827–1839), is considered one of the finest ornithological works ever completed. This monumental work consists of 435 hand-colored, life-size prints of 497 bird species, made from engraved copper plates of various sizes depending on the size of the image. Audubon developed his own methods for drawing birds. First, he killed them using fine shot. He then used wires to prop them into a natural position, unlike the common method of many ornithologists, who prepared and stuffed the specimens into a rigid pose. When working on a major specimen like an eagle, he would spend up to four 15-hour days, preparing, studying, and drawing it. His paintings of birds are set true-to-life in their natural habitat. He often portrayed them as if caught in motion, especially feeding or hunting, basing his paintings on his extensive field observations. Audubon's influence on ornithology and natural history was far reaching. Nearly all later ornithological works were inspired by his artistry and high standards. Charles Darwin quoted Audubon three times in On the Origin of Species and also in later works. Despite some errors in field observations, he made a significant contribution to the understanding of bird anatomy and behavior through his field notes. For hours, he played in the barn, worked by his grandma’s side in the garden and helped his grandpa sort pigs.  After college his life took a different direction. With a photography degree in hand, he traded the quiet life of rural America for a fast-paced life in the city. As a commercial advertising photographer in St. Louis, Trent worked with some of the largest blue-chip companies in the country. After 15 years as a successful advertising photographer, he returned to his hometown to raise his two boys in Illinois. The landscape he found there however, was very different from the one he remembered. Gone were the days of the small farms. Wooden barns and fence lines were disappearing, making way for housing and business developments. His grandfather had passed by this time and the new owners of his property were getting ready to tear down the barns. It was at that point he decided to turn his camera to the great beauty of the Midwest landscape before it disappeared.  \r\rTrent Foltz received his Bachelors of Arts in Photography and his Bachelors of Science in Forestry from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois.  He has worked for the National Park Service and National Forest Service before opening a commercial advertising photography studio in St. Louis, Missouri.  Clients include, Anheuser-Bush, Volvo, and Hard Rock Cafe and the Missouri Botanical Center.  Trent moved back to his hometown in Geneseo, IL  where he currently maintains a studio. His black and white and colored landscape images are often described as spiritual, meditative, and reflective. This reflects his long time interest in Eastern philosophy and meditative practices and his slow and contemplative approach to making photographic images. \rGuion is largely self-taught. His early photographic training was influenced by the West Coast, large-format approach to black and white photography, and his preferred tools are still a 4”x5” view camera and film. His recent colored work is more impressionistic, influenced by California impressionist paintings of the early 1900s and the Hudson River School of painting from the mid-19th century.  \rGuion has published two books of photographs paired with spiritual and inspirational writings (Heartwood, Meditations on Southern Oaks in 1998 and Heartwood, Further Meditations on Oaks in 2009) and he is working on a third (Spirit of Place – Images of California’s Central Coast). His photographs have been used for several book jacket covers (for Simon and Schuster, Random House, Crown Books, Harper Collins and Warner Books) and in the feature film (The Wishing Tree starring Alfre Woodard, 1999).  \rHis photographs are contained in a variety of corporate and private collections across the country as well as the public collections of the Louisiana Folklife Museum, the Louisiana State Museum, and the New Orleans Museum of Art. The real subject is their surfaces.  “I am intrigued by the texture of a crumbling stone wall, the splintered wood of an old wagon or the way the light reflects off a piece of hand-turned stoneware…the signs of wear and hard use.  How many stories they must have to tell”.  \rOver the years, Ray has developed a number of texturing methods to accurately depict these signs of aging.  He compiled many of them in a book titled, “Texture Techniques for Winning Watercolors”, published by Northlight and released in November of 1999 (now out of print).\rRay’s work has been published, as prints, by Primrose Press, Galaxy of Graphics, and most recently, by Bruce McGaw Graphics.  His work has appeared in many books and magazines such as Splash 3, Splash 4, Splash 9, Palette Talk, Bucks Country Magazine, County Line Magazine, American Artist, Artist’s Magazine and Chinese Watercolor, an art magazine published in Beijing, China.\rRay is represented by several galleries in southeastern Pennsylvania. Ray is highly regarded for his detailed rural landscapes and antique still lifes. However, he explains, the real subject of my work is not the aging farm buildings, the rustic old mills or the antiqued crocks and jugs. The real subject is their surfaces. \"I am intrigued by the texture of a crumbling stone wall, the splintered wood of an old wagon or the way the light reflects off a piece of hand-turned stoneware‚Ķthe signs of wear and hard use. How many stories they must have to tell‚Äù. Over the years, Ray has developed a number of texturing methods to accurately depict these signs of aging. He compiled many of them in a book titled, \"Texture Techniques for Winning Watercolors‚Äù, published by Northlight and released in November of 1999 (now out of print). Ray' s work has been published, as prints, by Primrose Press, Galaxy of Graphics, and most recently, by Bruce McGaw Graphics. His work has appeared in many books and magazines such as Splash 3, Splash 4, Splash 9, Palette Talk, Bucks Country Magazine, County Line Magazine, American Artist, Artist' s Magazine and Chinese Watercolor, an art magazine published in Beijing, China. Ray is represented by several galleries in southeastern Pennsylvania. He is an elected signature member of the American Watercolor Society, The National Watercolor Society, The Pennsylvania Watercolor Society (also awarded Sylvan Grouse Guild member status of the society), The Philadelphia Watercolor Society (recipient of the Crest Award for continued excellence), and the International Society of Acrylic Painters. He has been the recipient of many awards for his work in national and international exhibitions and has had numerous one-man shows. He is listed in \"Who' s Who in American Art‚Äù.
