Mark MacKinnon has been a fine art and commercial advertising photographer since 1980. He graduated from the University of California, San Diego in 1978 where he received a BA degree in film and visual arts.
He worked as an independent commercial photographer in Los Angeles, and San Francisco until 1995, when he relocated to New York City to continue working in the fine art field of photography and to pursue advertising agency work. He currently exhibits his work in New York City, London, and several galleries in New York State. He also runs a fine art printing business where he prints his own artwork and that of other artists for presentation in high end galleries. Currently he is a director of APA National (Advertising Photographers of America) in New York, whose mission is to further the business practices of working photographers to protect their interest in the copyright of their original artwork.
