Matt McCarthy has been involved with photography since taking a basic B&W photography class while in college in the 1980s. With encouragement from his class instructor, he began a lifelong career in photography including wedding photography, commercial photography, assisting work, photographic retail, and other photographic endeavors at different times. McCarthy’s collection of classic auto details is a combination of his love of photography and his love of motor vehicles, especially automobiles. That love of cars predates his involvement in photography. Like so many young boys, he had a collection of little die-cast cars, and by the age of 10, he knew the difference between a Corvette and a Mustang, and other vehicles. He’s fallen in love with other vehicles over the course of time - aircraft's, motorcycles, even fictional sci-fi spacecraft, but it all returns to what he loved as a boy - cars of all shapes, sizes, purposes, and design.
