The youngest of five children, Andrew was a sickly child who had to be pulled out of school after contracting whooping cough. He was home-schooled by his parents in every subject including art education. His father, Newel Convers Wyeth, was a well known illustrator whose art was featured in many magazines, calendars, posters and murals. Andrew had a vivid memory and fantastic imagination that led to a great fascination for art. His father recognized an obvious raw talent that had to be nurtured. While his father taught him the basics of traditional academic drawing Andrew began painting watercolor studies of the rocky coast and the sea in Port Clyde Maine. He worked primarily in watercolors and egg tempera and often used shades of brown and grey. He held his first one-man show of watercolors painted around the family’s summer home at Port Clyde, Maine in 1937. It was a great success that would lead to many more. Wyeth married Betsey James at the age of twenty-two and had two boys, Nicholas who became an art dealer, and James who became the third generation artist in his family. Andrew was featured on the cover of American Artist as well as many other famous magazines such as the Saturday Evening Post that displayed his painting "The Hunter". His first solo museum exhibition was presented in 1951 at the Farnsworth Art Museum. Since then he has seen many more successes and is considered one of the most "collectible" living artist’s of our time.
© Charles Caryl Coleman\r
\r
About the Artist
Charles Caryl Coleman (1840, Buffalo, New York–1928, Capri, Italy) was an American-born Italian painter.\r\rBorn and raised in Buffalo, New York, Coleman studied art under William Holbrook Beard "and an itinerant painter, Andrew Andrews whose real name was Isaacs." Between 1859 to 1862, Coleman studied in Paris under Thomas Couture, returning during the American Civil War to serve with the Union Army during which he was seriously wounded and recovered in New York City. Through his masterful technique, Zhen-Huan Lu captures a world beyond the obvious with close-ups and exquisite details.\r\rZhen-Huan Lu’s paintings have been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the United States and China. \r
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0223/4033/products/Z192_c2c3e1eb-7a12-4735-9a40-e5456b03c0a7.jpg?v=1597348202
edward-hopper-rooms-by-the-sea
Rooms by the Sea
© Edward Hopper\r
\r
About the Artist
Edward Hopper (b. Working in an exaggerated scale, O’Keeffe achieved timeless abstractions by reducing her subjects to their simplest form and color.Born in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, O’Keeffe studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and later at the New York Art Students League under the direction of William Merritt Chase. At a time when women were strongly discouraged from pursuing careers, O’Keeffe embarked on a path that ultimately led to her recognition as the pre-eminent female American artist of the 20th century. Her work was first exhibited in 1917 by renowned photographer Alfred Steiglitz at his 291 Gallery in New York, where it created a sensation. She later married Steiglitz, whose unflagging support enabled O’Keeffe to focus on her extraordinary artistic talents.The artist spent the last forty years of her life in the desert of New Mexico finding inspiration in the rugged splendor of her surroundings. O’Keeffe was the recipient of numerous honors and awards during her lifetime, notably the United States Medal of Freedom in 1977.
Poster © 2026
McGaw Graphics, Inc.

About the Artist
Edward Hopper (b. Fabritius was born in February 1622 in Middenbeemster, a village in the ten-year old Beemster polder in the Dutch Republic, and was baptized on 27 February of that year. He was the son of Pieter Carelsz., a painter and schoolteacher, and he had two younger brothers Barent and Johannes, who also became painters.
Initially he worked as a carpenter (Latin: fabritius). In the early 1640s he studied at Rembrandt's studio in Amsterdam, along with his brother Barent. Of all Rembrandt's pupils, Fabritius was the only one to develop his own artistic style. A typical Rembrandt portrait would have a plain dark background with the subject defined by spotlighting. In contrast, Fabritius' portraits feature delicately lit subjects against light-coloured, textured backgrounds. Moving away from the Renaissance focus on iconography, Fabritius became interested in the technical aspects of painting. He used cool color harmonies to create shape in a luminous style of painting.
Fabritius was also interested in complex spatial effects, as can be seen in the exaggerated perspective of A View of Delft, with a Musical Instrument Seller's Stall (1652). He also showed excellent control of a heavily loaded brush, as in The Goldfinch (1654). All these qualities appear in the work of Delft's most famous painters, Vermeer and de Hooch; it is likely that Fabritius was a strong influence on them.
Fabritius died young, caught in the explosion of the Delft gunpowder magazine on October 12, 1654, which destroyed a quarter of the city, along with his studio and many of his paintings. Only about a dozen paintings have survived, four of which are in National collections in the United Kingdom.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0223/4033/products/F2164_4135ba7a-6fe8-477a-a910-5b3f31249900.jpg?v=1655930495
winslow-homer-dad-s-coming-1873
Dad’s Coming!, 1873
Image is Copyrighted and Property of its respective owner\r
\r
About the Artist
Winslow Homer (born Feb. 24, 1836, Boston, Mass., U.S. — died Sept. 29, 1910, Prouts Neck, Maine) was an American painter. Regarded, along with Michelangelo and Leonardo, as one of the three giants of Italian Renaissance art, his art embodied the classical ideals of the High Renaissance style.\r\rBorn in Urbino, Raphael received his earliest training from his father, a provincial court painter. In his early career, Raphael worked in Florence concentrating on religious subjects rendered in a graceful, restrained style. At 26, he arrived in Rome and began working for Pope Julius II, pursuant to a commission to decorate the papal apartments. During this period, the artist expanded his repertoire to include portraits and mythological subjects.\r\rWhile the influence of Leonardo and Michelangelo is evident in his compositions, Raphael developed his own unique style that has retained a timeless, universal appeal. Immediately after graduating he traveled to Spain and Italy where he began his pursuits as an artist while also working as a product designer for Sarreid Ltd., a U.S. based home furnishings importer. For the next 10 years this experience allowed Jack to work side by side with artists and artisans in their centuries old studios throughout Spain and Italy. During this time Jack became very knowledgeable in old world studio practices involving numerous art forms utilized in the creation of the objects he was designing particularly in Florence Italy while at the same time continuing to develop and hone his own painting skills. Living in Florence amongst some of the greatest art ever created afforded Jack the opportunity to study intensely the art of Western Europe particularly the Italian Renaissance which remains a source he draws upon today. After settling down and marrying in the U.S., Jack and his wife Ann moved to the coast of their\rnative state of North Carolina in 1995. The sea, a lifelong passion and constant subject for Jack, would now be his home and would provide a constant feed of inspiration that would inform his work in a way that would not be possible from a distance. Jack and his wife live in the old seaport town of Beaufort, NC whose inlet leads directly out to sea. It is home to many early 18th century houses as well as the 1718 shipwreck believed to be the pirate Blackbeard's flagship "Queen Anne's Revenge". The artwork of Jack Saylor is extensively held in private and corporate collections throughout the country.\r\r\rFor most of my adult life I have lived and painted by the sea, at first because I wanted to and later because I had to. It is my source. As an artist I try to express myself as clearly as I can, while taking myself out of the work and making way for whatever will emerge. I have no interest in presenting some stylistic flourish or flair through brushwork etc. Instead I want to present a crystal clear depiction of the expression I wish to make by way of the craft of painting, not the act of painting. I often approach my subject matter not square-on, but indirectly from an angle of sorts and thus present it in the same manner. I believe that suggesting a subject can be infinitely more powerful than depicting it entirely and it is through this approach that a viewer can be enticed into creating the unseen parts by way of their own experiences and at that point the dimensions of the work become limitless.\r\r\r
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0223/4033/products/S1649_91ab48ec-f57e-43d7-9af2-d8f28bb1a230.jpg?v=1633480534
j-w-waterhouse-circe-invidiosa-1892
Circe Invidiosa, 1892
Image is Copyrighted and Property of its respective owner\r
\r
About the Artist
John William Waterhouse (b Rome, 6 April 1849; d London, 10 Feb 1917) was an English painter. His father was a minor English painter working in Rome. Waterhouse entered the Royal Academy Schools in London in 1870. He exhibited at the Society of British Artists from 1872 and at the Royal Academy from 1874. From 1877 to the 1880s he regularly travelled abroad, particularly to Italy. In the early 1870s he had produced a few uncharacteristic Orientalist 'keepsake' paintings, but most of his works in this period are scenes from ancient history or classical genre subjects, similar to the work of Lawrence Alma-Tadema (e.g. Consulting the Oracle, c. 1882; London, Tate). However, Waterhouse consistently painted on a larger scale than Alma-Tadema. His brushwork is bolder, his sunlight casts harsher shadows and his history paintings are more dramatic.\r
J.W. Through his masterful technique, Zhen-Huan Lu captures a world beyond the obvious with close-ups and exquisite details.\r\rZhen-Huan Lu’s paintings have been exhibited in museums and galleries throughout the United States and China. \r
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0223/4033/products/Z275_76d110c6-b672-4ee8-9e60-929d6c5a7557.jpg?v=1599062111
kevin-daniel-mother-s-pride
Mother’s Pride
© Kevin Daniel\r
\r
About the Artist
When Kevin Daniel began dabbling in paints and completing portraits as a young man in the early 60s, he had no thought that he was nurturing the beginnings of a profession that would last a lifetime.
