About the Artist
Derek Jecxz was born and raised in New York City. His photographic artwork spans a journey of experience that began in the mid 1990s. His photo shoots, some lasting as long as two months, have taken him to remote locations in both the United States and Canada. In stark contrast to the crowded metropolis of his birth, Derek’s photographs reveal the path less traveled, the quiet, intimate and forsaken landscape that exists without witness. Far more than merely snapshots of scenic views, Derek’s photographs offer his personal perspective of the world.
In striving for perfection, Derek uses Hasselblad cameras and lenses, working in both film and digital mediums. His photographs are frequently used by Hasselblad in product presentations worldwide. Derek’s fine art photographs have also been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums and he has received a number of awards. His photographs have been purchased and installed by countless companies, institutions and homes throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.
