Rather than reproduce a landscape, Ortenstone takes what she sees into her own psyche and creates many layers of underpainting on each canvas, until the final image emerges. \"When I can dance with the colors and trust that each painting is the path to the next, my paintings undergo a transformative process. Acrylics are especially suited to my technique because of the speed with which images can emerge, be washed away and rapidly be brought forth again with new resonance,\" Ortenstone states. Her objective is to unite music, dance and color, creating her own melodies on canvas. The artists who have inspired her are Rothko, Frankenthaler and Oliveira. Ortenstone has lived in Minnesota (her birthplace), Mexico and New Mexico. She holds a B.A. from the University of Minnesota and an M.A. from the University of Mexico through the Instituto Allende in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Ortenstone's paintings are exhibited in several galleries across the country, and are also included in many private and corporate collections.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Nancy Ortenstone","offers":[{"title":"12x9 image on 14x11 Paper","offer_id":67856193323300,"sku":"O700-1P","price":15.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"16x12 image on 19x13 Paper","offer_id":67856193356068,"sku":"O700-2P","price":20.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"20x15 image on 22x17 Paper","offer_id":67856193388836,"sku":"O700-3P","price":30.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"24x18 image on 26x20 Paper","offer_id":67856193421604,"sku":"O700-4P","price":35.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"32x24 image on 34x26 Paper","offer_id":67856193454372,"sku":"O700-5P","price":50.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"36x27 image on 38x29 Paper","offer_id":67856193487140,"sku":"O700-6P","price":85.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"40x30 image on 42x32 Paper","offer_id":67856193519908,"sku":"O700-7P","price":125.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"48x36 image on 50x38 Paper","offer_id":67856193552676,"sku":"O700-8P","price":190.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"64x48 image on 66x50 Paper","offer_id":67856193585444,"sku":"O700-9P","price":220.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"12x9 image on 16x13 Giclée Paper","offer_id":67856193618212,"sku":"O700-1G","price":36.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"16x12 image on 20x16 Giclée Paper","offer_id":67856193650980,"sku":"O700-2G","price":54.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"20x15 image on 24x19 Giclée Paper","offer_id":67856193683748,"sku":"O700-3G","price":72.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"24x18 image on 28x22 Giclée Paper","offer_id":67856193716516,"sku":"O700-4G","price":96.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"32x24 image on 36x28 Giclée Paper","offer_id":67856193749284,"sku":"O700-5G","price":150.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"36x27 image on 40x31 Giclée Paper","offer_id":67856193782052,"sku":"O700-6G","price":192.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"40x30 image on 44x34 Giclée Paper","offer_id":67856193814820,"sku":"O700-7G","price":265.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"48x36 image on 52x40 Giclée Paper","offer_id":67856193847588,"sku":"O700-8G","price":390.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"64x48 image on 68x52 Giclée Paper","offer_id":67856193880356,"sku":"O700-9G","price":450.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"12x9 image on 16x13 Unstretched Canvas","offer_id":67856193913124,"sku":"O700-1C","price":30.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"16x12 image on 20x16 Unstretched Canvas","offer_id":67856193945892,"sku":"O700-2C","price":45.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"20x15 image on 24x19 Unstretched Canvas","offer_id":67856193978660,"sku":"O700-3C","price":60.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"24x18 image on 28x22 Unstretched Canvas","offer_id":67856194011428,"sku":"O700-4C","price":80.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"32x24 image on 36x28 Unstretched Canvas","offer_id":67856194044196,"sku":"O700-5C","price":125.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"36x27 image on 40x31 Unstretched Canvas","offer_id":67856194076964,"sku":"O700-6C","price":160.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"40x30 image on 44x34 Unstretched Canvas","offer_id":67856194109732,"sku":"O700-7C","price":220.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"48x36 image on 52x40 Unstretched Canvas","offer_id":67856194142500,"sku":"O700-8C","price":325.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"64x48 image on 68x52 Unstretched Canvas","offer_id":67856194175268,"sku":"O700-9C","price":375.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0223\/4033\/files\/O700.jpg?v=1792682049","url":"https:\/\/www.mcgawgraphics.com\/products\/nancy-ortenstone-dusk","provider":"McGaw Graphics","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
