Rather than reproduce a landscape, Ortenstone takes what she sees into her own psyche and creates many layers of underpainting on each canvas, until the final image emerges. \"When I can dance with the colors and trust that each painting is the path to the next, my paintings undergo a transformative process. Acrylics are especially suited to my technique because of the speed with which images can emerge, be washed away and rapidly be brought forth again with new resonance,\" Ortenstone states. Her objective is to unite music, dance and color, creating her own melodies on canvas. The artists who have inspired her are Rothko, Frankenthaler and Oliveira. Ortenstone has lived in Minnesota (her birthplace), Mexico and New Mexico. She holds a B.A. from the University of Minnesota and an M.A. from the University of Mexico through the Instituto Allende in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. Ortenstone's paintings are exhibited in several galleries across the country, and are also included in many private and corporate collections.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Nancy Ortenstone","offers":[{"title":"10x10 image on 14x11 Paper","offer_id":67856202793252,"sku":"O701-1P","price":15.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"12x12 image on 19x13 Paper","offer_id":67856202826020,"sku":"O701-2P","price":20.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"16x16 image on 18x18 Paper","offer_id":67856202858788,"sku":"O701-3P","price":30.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"20x20 image on 22x22 Paper","offer_id":67856202891556,"sku":"O701-4P","price":35.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"24x24 image on 26x26 Paper","offer_id":67856202924324,"sku":"O701-5P","price":50.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"30x30 image on 32x32 Paper","offer_id":67856202957092,"sku":"O701-6P","price":85.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"36x36 image on 38x38 Paper","offer_id":67856202989860,"sku":"O701-7P","price":125.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"42x42 image on 44x44 Paper","offer_id":67856203022628,"sku":"O701-8P","price":190.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"10x10 image on 14x14 Giclée Paper","offer_id":67856203055396,"sku":"O701-1G","price":36.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"12x12 image on 16x16 Giclée Paper","offer_id":67856203088164,"sku":"O701-2G","price":54.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"16x16 image on 20x20 Giclée Paper","offer_id":67856203120932,"sku":"O701-3G","price":72.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"20x20 image on 24x24 Giclée Paper","offer_id":67856203153700,"sku":"O701-4G","price":96.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"24x24 image on 28x28 Giclée Paper","offer_id":67856203186468,"sku":"O701-5G","price":150.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"30x30 image on 34x34 Giclée Paper","offer_id":67856203219236,"sku":"O701-6G","price":192.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"36x36 image on 40x40 Giclée Paper","offer_id":67856203252004,"sku":"O701-7G","price":265.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"42x42 image on 46x46 Giclée Paper","offer_id":67856203284772,"sku":"O701-8G","price":390.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"10x10 image on 14x14 Unstretched Canvas","offer_id":67856203317540,"sku":"O701-1C","price":30.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"12x12 image on 16x16 Unstretched Canvas","offer_id":67856203350308,"sku":"O701-2C","price":45.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"16x16 image on 20x20 Unstretched Canvas","offer_id":67856203383076,"sku":"O701-3C","price":60.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"20x20 image on 24x24 Unstretched Canvas","offer_id":67856203415844,"sku":"O701-4C","price":80.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"24x24 image on 28x28 Unstretched Canvas","offer_id":67856203448612,"sku":"O701-5C","price":125.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"30x30 image on 34x34 Unstretched Canvas","offer_id":67856203481380,"sku":"O701-6C","price":160.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"36x36 image on 40x40 Unstretched Canvas","offer_id":67856203514148,"sku":"O701-7C","price":220.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"42x42 image on 46x46 Unstretched Canvas","offer_id":67856203546916,"sku":"O701-8C","price":325.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0223\/4033\/files\/O701.jpg?v=1792681995","url":"https:\/\/www.mcgawgraphics.com\/products\/nancy-ortenstone-notes-of-ochre","provider":"McGaw Graphics","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
