Jim Schlotzhauer was born and raised in Los Angeles and was drawn to the art world at a young age. As a teenager, he traveled the globe extensively and learned to appreciate architecture, antiquities and cultures on nearly every continent. This inspired a curiosity that led to drawing, multiple types of ceramic work, drafting and eventually degrees in Art & Interior Design from California State University at Northridge. He continued his creative vision by starting on the ground floor of a west coast interior design firm that catered to the building industry. Here, he worked for decades producing award winning design on projects in Hawaii, Asia and all over the continental US. After working as an interior designer for over 25 years, he recently returned to his passion of drawing and painting. Today he continues to live in Southern California with his husband and together they travel the world finding inspiration along the way.
