About the Artist

Jamie Kingham's interest in photography developed while growing up in Carson City, Nevada. While initially inspired by the classic photography of Ansel Adams and Edward Weston, his eye soon ventured to the pages of Vogue and the high fashion world of Europe. After graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno and with a strong desire to see the world, he moved to Australia where he lived and photographed the life and people. From there he turned his attentions to London where he moved to in 1996. He soon became immersed in the vast and contrasting world of European imagery, assisting many of the top image makers of the era and taking much of his influence from the European landscape, fashion and portrait photographers of the time. Now based in Brooklyn, New York after 10 years in London, Jamie's images are a hybrid of the European influence experienced in his years overseas combined with the American foundation of his youth in Nevada. While still working in the fashion and portrait world, much of his free time is spent getting inspiration from the mountains of Nevada, the streets of Brooklyn, and the beaches of the world studying the textures, faces and patterns of the environment. Jamie has exhibited his work in New York, Germany and London and is currently concentrating his personal work on the graphic element of nature and how he perceives the everyday.
