Angela Caldwell's family roots lay in the American South—in Kentucky and Tennessee—but she grew up playing in the cornfields of middle Ohio. Raised somewhat isolated, her imagination was in constant use. She often invented friends in the form of animals or tiny people, crafting worlds for them to inhabit.
Today, Caldwell feels fortunate to utilize the strengths she developed as a child in her work. She finds as much joy in them now as she did then.
For the past three decades, Northern California has been her home. She lives near the state’s capitol, Sacramento, with her husband and two dogs—Morty and Otis. Although her parents and sister live in other states, she spends quality family time with her two grown children every week.
