Karl Rattner was born in Kansas City, Missouri and grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma in the 70s. He traveled a great deal throughout the states before settling down in Taos, New Mexico. He lives on a large stretch of land with his wife and two children. Rattner has taken art classes consistently throughout his career. It wasn't until the late 80's that he began painting full time. He believes that even the most seasoned painter can be exposed to a new technique and continue to learn. His delicate attention to detail is the strength of his work.
