Petra Williams was born in Dublin Ireland and has lived in
France since she was 19. Having studied core year at the National college of art and Design Dublin Ireland in 2000, she moved to France where she obtained her Bachelors degree in womenswear design. In 2010 she moved away from the design industry towards her love of art and has been concentrating solely in the arts, more specifically painting since. She has developed her work in such ateliers as Camille Flammarion in Paris and L’école municipal de Rueil Malmaison France. In 2015 she moved to London England where she lives and works.
Her paintings concentrate on the fine line between abstraction and figurative work. She paints on plaster then chips away at the surface to a blank canvas where she experiments with oils and acrylics. Her subject matter ranges in social and ecological events.
She has exhibited in the Gallery Pole-Art 13 in Paris as well as the open studios in the ateliers, and other exhibitions around Paris. She most recently showed her work at the Euroart studios in Tottenham, London.
