Introducing Gizara - Strong, Textural Abstracts

Gizara’s paintings are complex textural works in a clean palette of black, white and limited splashes of color. Her work reflects over thirty years as a painter and freelance photographer in the Los Angeles area. In the artist’s own words “painting is a manifestation of what is inside my soul-silently urging me, whispering to me to create beauty and bring some sort of order to the chaos that lies both inside and outside.”

Gizara’s works are sophisticated and appealing with an edginess that is commanding to the viewer. This visual power translated into several features on both film and television, most famously on AMC’s iconic series Mad Men when 2 of her paintings The King of Hearts and The Queen of Hearts were used in character Roger Sterling’s office, setting the tone for several seasons. This wide exposure lead The Huffington Post to publish the article about Lisa Gizara and “The Woman Behind the Mad Men” . Her images have also appeared on Modern Family, Ray Donovan, The Newsroom, and in other films, television series’ and commercials. A portfolio of Gizara’s work was included in the 2014 Oscar Nominee Gift bag, resulting in stars Bruce Dern and Jennifer Lawrence to add her paintings and photographs to their private collections. We were particularly drawn to Gizara’s artworks because they have a unique edge and offer a fresh new voice in our strong abstract category. Her work is perfect for residential, corporate and hospitality interiors. See Gizara’s Portfolio.
