Kem McNair's Art dates back to the mid 60s when he started surfing and doing art on surfboards. wax art, slip check designs(An old spray on non-slip surfboard coating), airbrushing, hand painting and laminating over 10,000 surfboards, and doing thousands of t-shirt designs, Illustrations and Fine Art for many well known clients, including Ron Jons Surf Shop, Corona Beer, 20th Century Fox, Marvel Comics, Budweiser and the "Daytona 500", and many well know surf shops including Salty Dog and Red Dog surf shop, private collectors and restaurants on the east coast. This last year he was invited to the Alma Surf Art, Music, and Film festival in Sao Paulo Brazil, The "Surfs Up" exhibit at the Ormond Museum of Art. He has also just completed 3 very successful one man shows in Daytona Beach. As a professional photographer last year he captured a set of amazing jumping shark/surfer photos that became world famous and an instant internet virile hit. The Photos have been featured on over 40 National TV news shows in america and most major newspapers in the world and just released on a new Discovery Channel Show "Is It True".
As an artist Kem paints in oils, acrylics, and watercolor. He Photographs nature, the beach and all things that need to be paintings some day.
He is an former member of the Famous East Coast Hobie Surf Team(Gary Propper and Dick Catri). A former East Coast and Florida State surfing champion. A professional musician for 40 years, Guitar player, vocalist, and songwriter/composer. His ability to paint compelling ocean art and fine art comes from over 45 years of viewing, photographing and riding waves in exotic locations all over the world, and a love and passion for Art ,Music, Photography, and our mother ocean.
