Pollock – Master of Abstract Expressionism
Today we celebrate Jackson Pollock on his birthday. Pollock, (1912–1956) was a major figure in the abstract expressionist movement. His most famous paintings were made during the "drip period" between 1947 and 1950 and the artist chose to number them instead of a title as numbers are more neutral. "They make people look at the picture for what it is – pure painting."
